Hello there, can you say just how far the system appears to get in the boot up sequence?

Does the system get through the BIOS P(ower) O(n) S(elf) T(est) POST ok? Does the system appear to start loading Windows and then freeze?

Which version of Windows do you have i.e. XP, Vista or something older?

Can you boot into 'safe-mode'? Try this by turning the system on and watch the screen, just the the BIOS POST routine finishes and just befor Windows should start loading press the F7 key a few times to interrupt the boot sequence. The system should pause displaying a text-based menu of options. Use the cursor key to move up to the top choice 'safe-mode' and press Enter.

The system should boot up into a limited version of Windows with only basic drivers loaded and none of the normal startup programs running. If this goes all ok then not all is lost it's a matter of now tracking down the driver or program that is causing the hang.

Can you remember updating any drivers or installing and software prior to this freezing problem?

Try this out and get back to us with some more details and we can then take this on to the next stage.
