Internet Problems with Vista - ComputerProblems.org Free Computer Support & Technology Discussion

Hello everyone hopefully someone can help me out here. I have a Sony Vaio VGN FE870E which is running Vista. Since I have gotten the PC I have had many problems with my internet connection. I can connect to the internet and access most sites however I cannot access my hotmail account, my MSN messenger, or my college email account. As well many downloading programs such as U torrent Limewire and ftp sites will not work. Im not sure whats going on but Vista or something else on my laptop is blocking me access from these programs and its really starting to get under my skin. The only firewall I have on is the vista firewall and even when i turn that off the programs do not work. Any help is very much appreciated.

hi

I suspect it's windows defender messing u up. Start windows defender, go in tools and see what software it is letting run and which ones it's not.

Do this while ur using torrent and limewire et al
