upgrade

how easy is it to upgrade to OS X from earlier versions?

i got a cold call fro ma new client today asking e to do it, i know there was some software issues with older stuff... anything else i should know? i think i have done this before, but my hazy brain can;t remember.... (then again these days i am lucky if i can remember what colour socks i have on)

any help would be appreciated!

From os 9 to X is easy, It can even keep the old OS alive and have a dual boot system (just like windows), The thing to keep in mind is if the Mac can take it, AND if the mac needs a FIRMWARE update BEFORE you run the OS X install have a look here http://www.mactracker.com/ this windows/mac program lists every mac made, and will tell you loads of info about it, plus it will tell you if it needs a firmware update to install OS X
