I am a totaly newbie to this so forgive me if I don't use the right lingo.
Anyway,
I have had my computer for about 8 months and all of a sudden my cd dvd rom drive just won't work. It doesn't show up on the computer with the other drives anymore. When I put in a disk it doesn't play, and if i search for it. it's like it doesn't exsist.

I looked at my device manager and found it there . this is the information it had;

-Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device.-

I tried to run the trouble shooter but it wouldn't work either.

I lclicked on the driver tab and it had this info-
HD-DT-ST DVDRRW GWA-4164B
it didn't give a manufacturer.

So I'm getting that something is wrong with the driver but I dont know what to do about it.

any help?
