Need to Open Programs Faster after Start Up

When I turn on my PC it starts up fairly quickly but when going for the first time of the day to Outlook, Internet Explorer or any other program it takes avery long time. For example it takes 5 minutes to open Outlook and 4 minutes to open IE. After I use these programs and exit them and reopen them they open fairly quickly, Outlook and IE open in about 2o seconds. Would appreciate any tips on how to get programs to open more quickly when opening them for the first time of the day.

I have a Dell PC with 1993 Mhz, and Windows XP Professional.
