TBH, I preferred the look of the old one, but that's not really the main problem IMO.

I think there are just too many sections to keep tabs on, which makes it look cluttered.

I would have this as..
Announcements/News
General Chat/Introductions/Suggestions/
For Sale/Wanted/Swap

Computer Stuff
Hardware - PCs/Macs/Laptops/PDA/Network
Software - All OS/Security
Internet/Email
Links/Useful Programs

Audio/Visual
Software
Photography/Video
Pictures

I'm sure others could improve on that, but what you'd end up with is a neater looking forum which also looks a lot busier than it currently is. It's also best to try and do this sooner rather than later before the amount of posts makes it much harder to do.

Hope you see this as constructive criticsm
