I'm having some confusion about Live Update on NIS 2004. When I run Live Update, and it gets to where it is loading the Parental Control List, the blue bar stops about a half inch short of the end. When I check ctrl+alt+del, it says UrlUpdater not responding. It never does, even if I wait. Then I end the task, and it says I am up to date on virus definitions. I'm confused, because it doesn't appear that the Update is complete.

If any of you have NIS 2004, anything I need to do, or am I OK? I downloaded Intelligent Updater, also. Thank you for any help.

Sometimes Norton products go a little wacky. Something that you can try is un-installing the program and re-installing the program, usually this corrects the problem. You are doing the correct thing by using the Intelligent Updater just to make sure you have the latest Updates. We made a custom script that you can to download and install the intellegent updater automatically via the task schedular. I have considered reinstalling. I was hoping to not have to. Is it safe to do that?.......I mean it took two attempts to install it the first time. Or......should I leave it alone, and just do the Intelligent Updater every Wednesday. Thanks for the help!

It should be safe to uninstall the program. You will need to uninstall the program and then reinstall, that would be the best way. But the choice is totally up to you, you can also use the Intelligent updater, either by the auto script, or by downloading it manually. So either way will work

I have indeed reinstalled NIS 2004 tonight. So far, so good. Between this and Adaware, my computer should run better. Thank you for your assistance. I'll keep you posted if any issues arise.
