Virus Locking Me Out of My Computer?

Hello there!
After getting spammed with strange messages telling me to download an antivirus program, i decided to run spybot (which was only just updated). It detected a large amount of spyware and a couple of trojans, after telling it to fix them, i was told 6 of the processes couldn't be fixed and required a restart.
After rebooting the computer i was unable to log into any profiles without being instantly being logged out again. I have tried to enter in safe mode but the same thing happens, is there any way around this without having to reformat? As i have university coursework on there i dont want to lose :'(. Any help would be massively appreciated,
Thankyou!

The easiest way is to take the hard drive out and take it to a PC which is know to be clean of any infections. The drive can then be hooked up to the other PC in place of an optical drive and booted up as normal. As the system is booting from it's clean drive no infectsion will be activated. The infected drive can now be scanned and cleaned by a number of different tools. Any essential files can then be copied off for safety. The drive can then be returned to the original PC and attempt to boot the system from it. If it has to be wiped at least all the vital documnets will have been saved.

The answer in futre is ALWAYS take regular backups of vital documents.

Did it make the disc usable again? Were you able to put it back into the original system and get it back up and running ok?
