spoof email from Microsoft regarding conficker
Be warned that if you receive an email that claims to come from Microsoft that looks like the one below ignore and delete it. Under NO circumstances should you follow the link.
Microsoft NEVER send out emails like this
Quote:
Dear Microsoft Customer,
Starting on April 1st, 2009 the Conficker virus started infecting Microsoft customers unusually rapidly.
Microsoft was alerted by your Internet provider that your system is showing signs of infection.
To halt further infection we advise running a full scan of your computer.
We are providing all effected Windows users with a free system checkup in order to prevent theft of personal information and stop further infection.
Please visit the Microsoft Windows Computer Safety Scanner website by clicking here to begin the scan.
The scanner will take less than a minute to run and will protect your information from being compromised.
We appreciate your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Windows Representative #180 (Chrystal)
