I've got to main problems:
1) Every time I start Internet Explorer (version 7.0). I got a pop-up window that says "Can't find 'file:///c:/secure32.html'. Make sure the path or the internet address is correct". 'file:///c:/secure32.html' is also what my homepage is set to and I can't change it.
2) I can't open or uninstall Norton Antivirus. I get an error message of " Norton Antivirus has encountered an internal error.... (another pop-up then says) "unable to start integrator...."

System Info:
Windows XP SP2
3.0GHz
1.0gig or RAM.
Radeon x800 video

I've ran AE Adware, Spyware Detector, Spybot, CWShredder, etc. They find things, but don't fix my problems. I'm unfamiliar with HIJACK THIS, but here is my logfile.

I deleted (tried to fix) the following lines using HIJACK THIS, but they just keep coming back and show up again when I run HiJACK THIS.

Hello and welcome to the community.


1. Bring up your taskmanager by pressing Control + Alt + Delete, and click on the processes tab Then click on 'Paytime.exe' and end the task.
2. Delete paytime.exe, which you should find under c:\Windows\System32
Delete c:\secure32.html
3. Run Explorer. It will tell you that it cannot find the path for secure32.html. Use the default configuration of Explorer and everything will be OK.

Give that a try and let us know if that worked.

I appreciate the reply, but I can't find any of the files you listed. I've looked for them before when I saw a similiar suggestion on another website. I even unchecked "hide system files" to see if it was hidden, but nothing. I did a complete system search for paytime* and secure32*, but nothing.

Any other ideas???

Next uninstall the SpywareDetector software you have by using add/remove programs this could be also a cause of your infection.

After you uninstall, download and install a copy of Avast Anti-Virus: avast! antivirus software - computer virus, worm and Trojan protection by ALWIL Software you can download the free home version. I know you have Notron AV installed, but we want to use the Boot Time scan from AVAST as it will also remove spyware. Once the scan is complete see i you still receive the hijack, and post a fresh hijack this log.
