Greetings,
This is a warning re an email I recieved today telling me that I had been sending emails with a virus. The email itself had an attachment called KB3828-x86.zip which itself is a virus called WIN32-WAREZOV.EW.
The email stated that I had to install this patch to fix the problem. The sender was
sec@elamex.com. I have no idea who they are but if you receive any email of this type saying you have a virus and the attachment is like the one mentioned above do not even open it. delete it. Also make sure your antivirus is upto date.
I also received another email with the same virus but it was a file that was called text dat.bat from a
linda.walker@cfradio.net
I am running Kaspersky 2006 and it detected it as soon as it came in.
Note to the moderator: It would be a good idea if all the sections of this group are warned about this threat. I do not know how you would do it, but if you can please do so.
You have been warned.
Regards,
Ed Campbell.
