I would say no for 4 reasons:
1. Lots of people still have that stuff laying around for different reasons (including me)!
2. Just because Microsoft doesn't support anymore doesn't mean we shouldn't
3. You never know what you'll find at a service call for a computer!... So you should be prepared to find. know about and fix 98/ME issues. Besides you won't make any money telling people to buy new computer if all their doing is word processing or such.
4. Lots of kids get stuff handed down to them (98/ME)! And guess what they have no $$$'s
so they realy need support. Thats how I learned and got interested in Electronics was by taking old stuff apart and trying to fix... And alas guess what kinda stuff third world countries have... you guessed it 98/ME!
